Quote: “I’m only translating until I can figure out a way home.”
Name: Dongwa

Age: 14 (cat years)
Film/Show/Game: Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat
Species: Siamese cat
Height: 1’0”
Weight: 10 pounds
Basic Appearance: Dongwa is a cream colored Siamese cat with light blue eyes. In the middle of his face is a diamond shaped brown marking that touches his eyes and the tip of his nose. His paws and most of his tail are the same color as the marking on his face. Dongwa also wears a purple collar with a golden, circular tag attached to it. The fur on the top of his head is also rather scruffy.
Picture:
Personality: Dongwa is an intelligent young cat and very adventurous. He is brave most of the time, and can be quite stubborn and competitive, but he does have a good heart even though he sometimes doesn’t act like it. He is a bit more independent than his two sisters, Sagwa and Sheegwa, and much prefers hanging out with alley cats than playing with his sisters. Dongwa is also fond of martial arts.
Allies: Left for roleplay
Enemies: Left for roleplay
Family: Sagwa and Sheegwa (sisters), Baba Miao (father), Mama Miao (mother), Yeh-Yeh Miao (grandfather), and Nai-Nai Miao (grandmother)
Alliances: Amaterasu’s group, acting as a very reluctant translator.
History: Dongwa was the first-born son of the Miao family, a family of scribe cats that lived with the magistrate in China. He and his two younger sisters, Sagwa and Sheegwa, were a part of the royal family and taught the ways of being scribe cats. Dongwa, unlike Sagwa, was not fond of learning to write and much preferred learning martial arts. While Sagwa and Sheegwa would often play together, Dongwa spent his days either practicing martial arts or hanging out with his alley cat friends. It was a simple life, and Dongwa liked it that way.
Then, one day, everything changed. Dongwa had been playing with his alley cat friends, enjoying his day, when all of a sudden he and the others found that they were overcome by some unexplainable pain. It felt as though they were being ripped away from their homes! One minute Dongwa was trying to find some reason behind what was going on, and the next minute he passed out. When he awoke, he was in a strange building. Confused by what had happened, Dongwa began to explore the castle-like building only to come upon a white wolf. She called herself Amaterasu, and she explained that she was forming a group to try and survive in the strange world… that she needed a translator. Since Dongwa was seemingly the first animal she had come upon, Amaterasu asked him to be her translator. At first, Dongwa was reluctant. He didn’t want to translate for someone he barely knew! On the other hand, he didn’t have anywhere else to go. Staying with Amaterasu would be better than not having any place to go, he reasoned, and so he reluctantly agreed to be Amaterasu’s translator for the humans. Just why humans could seemingly understand his speech was beyond him, but Dongwa didn’t question it. At least he would have something to do until he got home.
Sample Post: “You want me to do what?” Dongwa asked, eyes widening as he looked Amaterasu over again. She couldn’t be serious… could she? Him? A translator? As far as Dongwa knew, humans couldn’t understand the speech of cats. How could he possibly translate for a wolf? His tail flicked from side to side as he gazed up at the wolf that had supposedly found him passed out in the middle of the forest. Dongwa didn’t think Amaterasu was serious. She couldn’t be.
“I want you to be my translator, Dongwa. Humans cannot understand me, you see. As far as they can tell, I am nothing more than a white wolf. For some reason, humans are able to understand animals in this world. Please, I need someone to speak for me.” the wolf told him. Dongwa’s jaw dropped. She was serious. But… he couldn’t be a translator! He was just a kitten!
…Then again, where else could he go? If he left and rejected Amaterasu’s request, there wouldn’t be anywhere else he could go. The kitten let out a soft sigh after a moment and met the wolf’s gaze once more. He would do it. “All right. I’ll translate for you.” Dongwa said at last. This wasn’t going to be easy, by any means, but Dongwa didn’t see anyone else around. He might as well give translating a shot.
